AUSTIN, Texas - January 14, 2026
ElderFIT, a platform connecting older adults and their families with personal trainers specializing in senior fitness, has expanded its payment options to support Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Medicare Flex Card debit cards.
The update gives ElderFIT customers additional payment options when booking in-home personal training designed to support strength, balance, mobility and overall functional fitness.
“Families are increasingly looking for ways to help aging parents stay strong, mobile and independent at home,” said Dave Manzer, Co-Founder of ElderFIT. “Adding support for HSA, FSA and Flex Card payments gives customers another option for using available healthcare benefits toward fitness when their plan allows it.”
Additional Ways to Pay for Senior Fitness
Customers can now enter eligible HSA, FSA or Medicare Flex Card debit cards as a payment method when using ElderFIT.
Whether personal training qualifies for payment or reimbursement depends on the rules of the customer's specific healthcare plan. Fitness services may qualify when exercise is associated with a medical need or recommended as part of a care or prevention plan.
ElderFIT encourages customers to confirm eligibility directly with their HSA, FSA or Medicare Flex Card administrator before booking services.
Letter of Medical Necessity May Be Required
Some plans require a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from a physician before fitness-related expenses can qualify.
To help customers understand this process, ElderFIT provides a sample Letter of Medical Necessity for reference. The sample is not a form to submit and does not guarantee eligibility or reimbursement. Any required LMN should be completed by the customer's physician according to the requirements of their individual plan.
ElderFIT also provides customers with downloadable invoices and receipts that can be used when documentation is required.
Expanding Access to In-Home Senior Fitness
The addition of HSA, FSA and Medicare Flex Card payment support is part of ElderFIT's ongoing effort to make personalized fitness more accessible to older adults and their families.
ElderFIT connects customers with personal trainers who provide one-on-one fitness sessions in clients' homes, with programs tailored around individual goals such as improving strength, balance, mobility and confidence.
HSA, FSA and Medicare Flex Card payment options are now supported through the ElderFIT platform, subject to individual plan eligibility and requirements.
