ElderFIT, a platform connecting older adults and their families with personal trainers specializing in senior fitness, has launched Family Accounts, a new feature designed to make it easier for families to participate in and manage a loved one’s fitness program.
Family Accounts allow older adults to invite adult children and other family members to their ElderFIT account. Adult children managing ElderFIT on behalf of a parent can also invite siblings or other family members to stay involved.
“Helping an aging parent stay active and independent is often a family effort,” said Dave Manzer, Co-Founder of ElderFIT. “Family Accounts give everyone involved a better way to stay informed, coordinate sessions and support their loved one’s fitness goals.”
Keeping Families Connected
Through Family Accounts, invited family members can receive session updates and review notes provided by the senior’s ElderFIT trainer, making it easier to follow progress even when family members do not live nearby.
Depending on their assigned account role, family members can also view and book upcoming in-home training sessions.
The feature is particularly useful for adult children who help coordinate care and services for an aging parent while sharing those responsibilities with siblings or other relatives.
Sharing the Cost of Senior Fitness
Family Accounts also introduce shared payment capabilities.
Multiple family members can securely add their own payment information to the account. This allows families to select different payment methods for future training sessions and share responsibility for the cost of an older adult’s fitness program.
Supporting Aging in Place
The addition of Family Accounts is part of ElderFIT’s continued development of a fitness platform designed around the needs of older adults and the families who support them.
By bringing fitness progress, trainer updates, scheduling and payment options together, ElderFIT aims to make it easier for families to work together as they help loved ones maintain strength, balance, mobility and independence.
Family Accounts are now available to ElderFIT customers through their customer dashboard.
