ElderFIT In-Home Fitness Trainers to Help Charleston Area Seniors Safely Age-in-Place

The national in-home fitness provider arrives in Charleston to help families ensure their senior loved ones remain healthy, mobile and independent in their homes.

CHARLESTON, S.C. - September 30, 2026
ElderFIT, a national senior fitness service connecting older adults, their families and caregivers with qualified personal trainers, announced today the expansion of its in-home senior fitness services into the greater Charleston area. The goal is to bring fitness in the homes of seniors, helping them age-in-place safely, independently and with dignity.

Through ElderFIT, seniors can receive personalized one-on-one fitness sessions in the comfort of their own homes, while family members can help coordinate sessions and stay informed about their loved one's progress. Training can focus on strength, balance, mobility, functional movement and maintaining the physical abilities needed for everyday life.

"Strength training now plays a much larger role in how we help our senior family members remain independent and vital in their communities. ElderFIT gives families a practical, proven way to support the health and wellness of the people they love. Our care-giver friendly platform makes it easy for seniors to get personalized fitness support in the comfort of their own home,” said Dave Manzer, Co-Founder of ElderFIT.

Eight Fitness Professionals in Charleston Area

ElderFIT's Charleston expansion includes trainers serving Charleston and surrounding communities such as Mount Pleasant, Moncks Corner, Johns Island and Hanahan.

The Charleston-area network of ElderFIT trainers now includes eight carefully vetted, certified fitness trainers, with specialties that include strength training, balance and mobility, functional movement, fall prevention, dementia exercise, and GLP-1 training support.

Rather than offering a standardized exercise program, ElderFIT trainers tailor sessions around each client's current abilities, goals and circumstances. For some seniors, that may mean rebuilding strength or improving balance. For others, the goal may simply be staying active and capable of continuing the everyday activities they enjoy.

The in-home approach makes it easier for family members and caregivers to help an older loved one stay consistent with exercise, particularly when transportation, mobility or unfamiliar gym environments create barriers.

ElderFIT recently introduced a free Senior Fitness Test, which takes about 20 minutes and measures areas including strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. Families can use the assessment to better understand a loved one's current fitness level and establish a baseline for future progress.
